Irish news service Independent Network News faces closure on 30 October following a decision of the company's board to make all staff redundant.

The 17-strong NUJ chapel is strongly resisting the closure and has commenced a ballot for industrial action aimed at forcing INN to reconsider the plan.

Staff will be thrown out of work at the end of the month and secure only the minimum payment allowed under Ireland's redundancy laws.

We're calling on members to email the company chairman, Charlie Collins, to protest about their refusal to negotiate with the NUJ.
